• PC or Mac

• webcam
• speakers
• microphone (to sing along)

• printer (to print out the "SK image" - the secret key used to bring Lil' Sean to life)

• Flash player 9.0 or highter (need flash? get it here)

• They tell us Firefox or Safari work best.
Chrome has been known to work too, but we just can't guarantee it!
Internet Explorer version 6 & 7 are currently not supported.
Portable iSight webcams work best in Firefox not Safari.



I'M HAVING TROUBLE MAKING LIL SEAN TO APPEAR!

If you see yourself in the video window, but are having trouble getting Lil Sean to appear, you want to check on a few things. First, be sure that you've printed out the SK Image. The SK Image looks like this:

Once you see yourself in the video window and are ready to start making Lil Sean come to life, here are some tips for getting the best dance moves out of him:

• Place the SK Image on a flat surface like a book or magazine and hold it in front of the webcam.

• Move and gently rotate the SK Image to see Lil Sean in full 3D. But at the same time, make sure that the entire SK Image is in full view of the webcam at all times!

• Keep any sort of glare off of the SK Image.

• Adjust lighting in your room for optimal video quality.

• For extra fun, you can print different sizes of the SK Image and see what happens!

I HAVE A WEBCAM, BUT IT'S NOT WORKING!

There few solutions to try to fix this problem.


Solution #1: Are You Allowing Flash To Use Your Webcam?
You MUST allow Flash to use your webcam in order to see yourself in the video window alongside Lil Sean.

During the set-up process, a flash message that looks like the image below will ask you if it's OK for www.seankingston.com to access your camera and microphone. You must click "ALLOW" to run this website.

Solution #2: Flash Doesn't Know Which Webcam To Use

NOTE 1 - DO YOU HAVE AN OLDER MAC?: If you are using a Mac older than 4 years old, you MUST follow the set up instructions here as the website will not be able to auto-detect your webcam.

NOTE 2 - IF YOU AREN'T SEEING THE FLASH MESSAGE BELOW: If the below window is not popping up automatically, you can manually make it appear by right-clicking or control-clicking to adjust the webcam settings.

STEP 1 - TRY AGAIN: If the first time you try to set up the webcam it doesn't work, click the 'Try Again' button. You may see a Flash window that looks like this:

STEP 2 - ALLOW: Double check that your are 'allowing' www.seankingston.com to access your camera and microphone. You'll see this option in the 2nd tab from the left:

STEP 3 - CHOOSE YOUR WEBCAM: You also need to click the 'webcam' tab (all the way on the right) and choose your webcam from the pull down list. See sample below. As soon as you choose the correct video camera in this screen, you should see your image appear.

If you don't see your image appear, try choosing a different camera from the options. Your webcam may not be named what you think it should be. For example, we found that the portable iSight camera was called "USB Video Class Video."

Solution #3: Make Sure Your Webcam Is Plugged In! Oops!
You just never know! Maybe some dust got in there between the plug and your computer. Try unplugging your webcam and plugging it back in again.

I AM NOT HEARING MUSIC DURING PLAYBACK

If you hear music during the recording process, but not when you're watching your recorded video, it is most likely because your speakers are not set loud enough. The sound of the music during recording must be loud enough for the microphone to pick it up.












HOW DOES THE DANCE MOVE TIMELINE WORK?

There is a timeline on the recording screen which highlights which dance moves Lil Sean will perform throughout the song. Initially the dance moves are predetermined, but you have the option to change the order of Lil Sean's dance moves either before or during recording.

OPTION 1 - BEFORE RECORDING: Drag different dance moves from the Dance Move Libary onto the timeline. You can drag as many moves as you want. You can drag the same dance move multiple times. The more dance moves you have on the timeline, the more Lil Sean will dance! You can also delete dance clips by cragging them off the timeline.

OPTION 2 - DURING RECORDING: During the recording, you can CLICK a dance move to have it applied to the timeline at the current point of the recording. For example, if you want Lil Sean to start dancing upside down as soon as the chorus starts, click Dance Move #5 right as you get to that point in the song. Hey look! Sean can dance upside down!
